Wisconsin Project
American Wetwood founder (and now an AMP advisor), Scott Mitchen, along with a class of middle-school students, created a 22-foot sculpture of an axe out of recycled timber from the bottom of Lake Superior. Scott, a salvage expert and international explorer, has a show on the Discovery Channel and visits schools to talk with kids about reuse of the world’s resources. The project produced two axes—one for the mural and one for Wisconsin—and represent the history of forestry, logging, and timber industries in this country.
