From the West: Travel eastbound on Route 44 through Winsted. Pass the Winsted Green and Northwestern CT Community College (yellow brick building) on the left. Whiting Street is the next left after the college buildings (across from Dunkin’). AMP is on the right.
From the East: Travel westbound on Route 44 to Winsted. Pass the junction for 183 and Route 8 South. After the next traffic light, take a right onto Whiting Street (across from Dunkin’). AMP is on the right.
From the South: Take Route 8 North. After exiting via the ramp, turn right on Route 44. Take your first right on Whiting Street (across from Dunkin’). AMP is on the right.
From the North: Follow Route 8 South into the center of Winsted. Turn left on Holabird Avenue (traffic light before the Winsted Green). Turn right on Whiting Street. AMP is on the left.
PARKING
AMP’s parking lot is located in front of the building, along Whiting Street. There is additional parking on AMP’s side of the street (please do not park in the assigned spaces along the river side of the street). See map below.
Accessibility
Accessible parking is available in AMP’s parking lot. There are also three spaces for bus parking directly in front of the mural building. AMP has two accessible entrances by code, one being more easily accessed than the other (exterior construction and landscape changes are underway). The main temporary entrance on the right side of the building has a sloped, paved ramp; the second accessible entrance is on the front left of the building via a ramp. Please call in advance if you would prefer using the easier/shorter access and we can open that entrance for you: (860) 379-3006.
In addition to an elevator to the second and third levels, there are also stairs and a two-story viewing platform. Restrooms are located on the first floor.
