Family Day

Looking for fun things to do with the kids? AMP’s Family Days offer games, storytimes, and creative activities for the whole family to enjoy, Kids 18 and under get in free.

May the Fourth Be With You! 

This is the way–to a fun-filled day. Join us on Saturday, May 4, for imaginative activities for kids, tweens, and teens that focus on our quarterly theme of Space/Science. The whole family will enjoy:

  • Build a Rover + Sandbox Obstacle Challenge

  • Out-of-This-World Improvisation for teens

  • Mars-Themed Storytime for little ones

  • Star Tours Scavenger Hunt, and more.

Activities are included with admission. Kids 18 and under are free at the door on Family Day.

Storytime: Space Exploration
The younger set will love listening to these illustrated space stories, thoughtfully curated and read by our Special Guest Reader: Carol Parent of Beardsley Library.


11:30am

Out-of-This-World Improvisation (ages 12+)
An hour of fun improv games, interactive challenges, and humorous activities to spark your imagination and make you laugh. No experience is required. Led by Deb Holleran of the Music Theatre of Connecticut.


All-Day Activities for All Ages:

Build Your Own Mars Rover + Sandbox Obstacle Challenge
Boldly go where no Rover has gone before! Build your own mini Mars Rover model, then crush the challenges posed by the terrain. 

Star Tours Scavenger Hunt
You’re our only hope! Go on a self-guided space-themed Scavenger Hunt to explore all three levels of the mural gallery and discover special features of the indoor mural. Ask for the Space Scavenger Hunt at the visitor desk.
