Our annual appeal mailing is heading your way thanks to help from these great volunteers! Check your mailboxes and please help support our next big phase of adding stairs and railings for the second level, as well as completing the two-story wrap-around viewing platform. This is a crucial phase to get us to the second-floor education programming space and the entrance to the future atrium and Visitor Center that will house the expansive education center.

Wait for the envelope and donate the old-fashioned way, or get a head start and do it online now: https://www.americanmuralproject.org/donate

Thanks for your support!

AMP is partnering with the House of Arts Letters & Science (HALS) Academy in New Britain to create a mural highlighting their community and the work contributions of Stanley Black & Decker, which is headquartered in New Britain. Made possible through partial funding from the Community Foundation of New Britain, the project will include a student visit to Stanley to see work underway and a chance to talk with employees, as well as the opportunity for the students to create a mural of their work from ceramic tiles, and visit to AMP in Winsted. Watch for photos and videos of this exciting program!

Senator Chris Murphy hosted an arts roundtable at AMP on Friday! Along with state representatives and arts leaders from around Connecticut, he discussed the arts as an economic driver.

Murphy said “I have been a believer from the very beginning that AMP is not only a good thing for Winsted, but it is transformational for everyone who gets to come here. I am a believer in art and the initiative of art changing people’s lives.”

We are excited to welcome Julie to our amazing group of teaching artists! She will be working with students in our CHAMPS after-school program.

"Sewing and art enrichment for elementary and middle school children has been a passion of mine in the Winchester Public Schools since 2005. Creating art in public spaces—both interior and exterior—is my educational background in interior and textile design. I am looking forward to having this year's CHAMPS students create a group project that can be displayed in a public space, either at AMP, their school, or another public building. Give us an empty blank space that cries out for pattern and color, and we will transform it into a joyful visual expression!"

Welcome, Julie!
