Ellen is setting sail on the next piece of the mural, paying tribute to Roy Lichtenstein's 1995 America's Cup sailboat for which he designed the "Mermaid Hull."
Even though our digital storytelling apprenticeship program has wrapped up for the summer, Brooke is still interviewing our construction crew, including Scott Boos, president of Scope Construction, to learn why they do what they do. Looking forward to sharing clips from these great interviews!
With any construction project, there are always surprises. And with our old mill building, this granite rock wall going way below ground level was one of them. This crew—Kerry, George, Ron, and Rego—are going above and beyond to prepare for the rebar towers.
Our apprentices, mentors, and Ellen are in NYC filming interviews with Melissa, the firefighter, and Edwin, the policeman, both depicted in the mural.
Ellen is working on the farming section of the mural. Stunning amber waves of grain!
Three of AMP's apprentices visited the Haddad dairy farm to interview Nina, who is the farmer milking the cows in the mural, and Scott, both of whom run the farm. Quite an experience for these three to learn about what it takes to manage this operation--and why they do it.
Jess, Natalie, and Liam--three of AMP's apprentices--with Michelle and Morrow, who are two of our mentors leading this extraordinary group.
