Salvaged Timber Project, Wisconsin

May 2007

AMP Advisor and American Wetwood founder Scott Mitchen invited a class of middle-school students to Wisconsin to create a 22-foot sculpture of an ax for the mural out of recycled timber from the bottom of Lake Superior. Scott, a salvage expert and international explorer, has a show on the Discovery Channel and visits schools to talk with kids about reuse of the world’s resources. The project produced two axes – one for the mural and one for Wisconsin.
