Ellen organized this project for AMP’s boardmembers and staff. On the first day, they brought back rubbings from the streets of Portland, a gigantic piece of drift wood, fishing nets, lobster traps, lawn ornaments, and a number of smelly bait bags. That evening, they deposited these items on the beautiful lawn of board member Peter Philip and his wife, Tory. The next morning, the Sea Fleas and Periwinkles from a local summer camp painted their designs on some of the things they’d collected. These items will become part of the section of the mural depicting Maine fisherman Manley Doughty and his crew.
